| I’m very pleased with the care provided at this practice. I take excellent care of my teeth so I really only need cleanings when I go in twice a year. I’ve had negative experiences in the past with other practices who falsely tell me I need certain procedures that I don’t actually need. Trust is very important to me when selecting a dentist and I fully trust this practice. They’ve never tried to upsell me or given me false information on my dental needs. I’ve moved since I started coming here but will drive the 45 minutes because I trust this practice so much. Also the service is excellent! Claudia is my hygienist and she is absolutely great. Very careful and gentle in her approach to teeth cleaning. What is also great is they treat employees well so there is little turnover. | I currently do not live in NC. However, when I had a chip fall out of a lower front incisor, I was very concerned about getting the proper fix. Previously when I was living in Charlotte, Dr. Phillippi had to remove a crown, perform work on the root and insert a new crown. He performed all of this in one appointment. He gained my trust and admiration that he would always perform necessary work in the best manner. When my lower front tooth chipped recently, I felt that he was the best choice for receiving the proper solution for my issue. Since I was traveling through Charlotte the following week, I called to see if I could get an appointment on short notice. My appointment was made the next day and the issue resolved. They do their best to make you feel comfortable especially when a procedure has to be done, and I've never felt taken advantage of with my dental health or financially. He is so warm and personable, never rushes through his visit with you. I am being 100 % completely honest when I say that he practices painless dentistry! I have never felt so much as a little stick. I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that he is the only dentist I have ever visited that makes a numbing shot totally without pain, pressure or anything unpleasant. | I had a crown come off so though not an emergency, it did require print treatment. We called on Monday morning and I had options for appointments on Tuesday morning. I arrived early and was taken early. We are self-pay so I am always looking for the cheapest recommended procedure. Dr. Kwan has always accommodated me there. He cleaned up my old crown, made trial insertions, but had to grind it slightly because my top tooth had dropped in the couple of days since the crown came off, then cemented it in. | On this visit, I had the best dental cleaning ever! My hygienist used a really firm touch; she said, "I'm a perfectionist!" So initially I thought, "oh, this is gonna be bad!" But, you know what? She never nicked my gums once or hurt me at all! When she was finished, my teeth looked great and felt even better! In fact, I can't keep my tongue off of them! And yes, there are hundreds of closer dentists to me but their professionalism, high-level competencies, and responsiveness cannot be matched. Through the years, I have had root canals, crowns, and implants and during each of those they communicated every step of the way what I should expect through the process. | My girls had the absolute best visit to the dentist this past week. They talk for days about how excited they are to go to the dentist when their appointments are coming up. Yes-they love going to see their Ms. Mary Joy. They always have to give her the biggest hugs when they see her and always make sure there is a good bye hug too. I am thankful that she takes really great care of their teeth and goes out of her way to make sure they have a positive dentist experience. If she doesn't have their favorite tooth paste or flouride, she will go try to find it for them. This doesn't seem like a big deal to most people, but to a child it's a big deal. She will talk to them about how to better care for their teeth-proper ways to brush, etc. I wish every kid who visits the dentist could have a "Mary Joy" in their lives. Dr. Kwon is also great with my girls. He is patient and talks to them about how they are doing with their teeth and just how they are doing in general. We joke about Kate H |

Over those years he has crowned several teeth, filled several carries, corrected my bite, and even corrected the botched work of other dentists. He has provided overall expert general dental care. I can honestly say he has never hurt me ... and I have had many procedures over the years! His office is always clean and organized and his staff is superb! Additionally, Crystal, my hygienist, has cleaned my teeth and provided dental care for many years! She is very careful and meticulous when cleaning my teeth. Amazingly, Crystal has never hurt me, either! She is the only hygienist that has convinced me to consistently floss my teeth ... and I HATE to floss! Plus, she is just so nice! Now that he is in Network with the new Dental Ins. that I now have, I have started going back to Dr. Phillippi. The difference in the services is like night and day. The doctors and hygienists staff work as a team and do an excellent job in providing the specific dental procedures appropriate to the current situation with my teeth. | My girls and I had a wonderful experience again with Mary Joy and Dr. Philipi and Kwon. I have two young girls and Mary Joy goes out of her way to make going to the dentist fun and educational. They love coming and always ask when they can come back. My oldest was struggling with brushing her teeth correctly this time and Mary Joy not only showed her on her plastic tooth model, but also opened up a brush and showed her the correct way on her own mouth. She then had my daughter also practice. The results are night and day with how she was brushing to how she is brushing now. I also love the options of fun flavors of tooth paste for the kids to pick from while having their teeth cleaned in the office. Who would have thought chocolate would be an option. | Always fast, efficient, and willing to get me or my family in for emergency situations. I've never once had to wait for an appointment when I've had emergencies such as pain of a chipped tooth, toothache pain, etc. How I became a patient was the true test that I'll never leave the practice. Years ago I had wisdom teeth pulled. I developed dry socket and was in severe pain, skimming the phone book to find a dentist that would come in over the weekend for this emergency situation. Dr. Phillip's answering serviced picked up and allowed me to come in on a Saturday morning and he packed my sockets and relieved the pain. I've been a loyal customer every since! Blackwell |

| Because I was once treated for head/neck cancer (on the base of my tongue) my dental care is a bit more complex than most. I have extreme dryness in my mouth, which can lead to a variety of dental problems without the extra care. I count on Dr. Phillippi and Marty (my dental hygienist) to provide that level of care. I've also find them very sensitive and accommodating to my idiosyncrasies. (I have a hard time sitting for long periods with my head lowered.) This last visit, something that had come up where it was helpful if they could get me out more quickly than normal. I think they got me out in record time! Interesting that most of the staff has been the same for almost as long as we have been going there...and many drive long distances to get to work..This speaks volumes for the work environment and this is reflected to us, the patients. We rarely ever wait more than 5 minutes for our appointments and thanks to this practice, my kids almost look forward to seeing the dentist, unlike my husband's and my experience growing up! | Hope did a great job on cleaning my teeth. Both Hope and Dr. Kwon know that I have a great fear of having dental procedures. To be very honest I never have had any problems with any procedures they have done. Dr. Kwon goes over any procedures that needs to be done and makes sure that I feel no discomfort. | Dr Kwon and his entire staff are the best all around. Everyone is polite, caing and efficient. My family has never had to wait for any of our appointments. | Dr. Phillippi has been our family's dentist since 1985, when we first came to Charlotte. Cathy has been our hygienist for much of that time. Their services have always been of the highest caliber. Their administrative staff have always been superb as well. By now, we really feel like we are "part of the family". | I had a really bad toothache over the weekend, keeping me up for 2 nights. The pain from bottom right molar was so bad that it would give me splitting headache. I called to set an appointment the following Monday and by lunch time the molar was pulled and started the process for my implant replacement. (Tooth had vertical crack from the top of the tooth to the root of the tooth) could not be saved. That's why the pain was so bad. I'm so much happier now, I did not realize how badly that pain affected my mood. Thank you, Dr. Kwon And thank you to everyone at Phillippi & Kwon Dentistry! Ben D |
